In practice liquidity means more than turnover: it is the pools of orders price gravitates towards. Stops sit where most people put them — beyond highs and lows, round numbers and the edges of an obvious range. A large participant needs a counterparty, so a run into those zones is ordinary market mechanics rather than a manipulation aimed at you personally.
