What a demo account gives you
You open a trade at the current market price, set size, stop and target — and from there the position lives with the real market: price moves, floating result changes, the stop fires on its own. Being wrong here costs you a line in your statistics. This is not the same as deciding you would have entered: until the trade is open, nothing about your psychology is being tested, and psychology is what breaks trading.
The statistics matter more than any single trade
Results roll up into a summary: number of trades, share of winners, average win and average loss. That is what to read, not the last trade. The classic beginner shape is a high win rate with a negative bottom line: profits are taken quickly, losses are sat through. A single trade never reveals that; the summary reveals it immediately, and it is fixed by one change to your rules rather than by a new strategy.
Demo versus a real account: where the line is
Plainly: a demo does not reproduce two things — the fear of losing your own money, and slippage when news hits. So a demo does not replace a real account, it prepares you for one. Mechanics and rules are rehearsed here; getting used to your own emotions has to happen on a small real position. We are not a broker and hold no accounts — you trade real money at your own exchange or broker.

- Can I rehearse trades on history rather than only in the live market?
